It’s been our philosophy to use only the Arlewood Block A vineyard, planted in 1988, from which to source the fruit for this wine. It spends 2 years in the finest tightly grained French oak barriques we can get our mits on, and a further 2 years in bottle for all the elements to come together prior to release. This wine is now 4 years old has rewarded our belief in our Cabernet programme.
It is dense and compact; true to the Arlewood 'House Style'. The wine opens up beautifully with air, revealing dark fruits, classy oak and delicious savoury flavours with a compelling mineral depth and firm, crunchy acid to close. It’s also elegant and restrained, very long and savoury on the palate. It’s pretty much the style we are hunting. More approchable in it's youth than the previous tow releases, which makes it a treat to drink now till 2019.”
